Welcome to our Butterfly Room
- The Butterfly room is our senior room and provides the ECCE scheme for children aged between 4-5years old.
- For most children this will be the second and final year of their ECCE scheme where they will graduate with their friends and begin the next chapter of their lives in primary school.
- The purpose of our Butterfly room is to support the children’s progress from the Rainbow room and to encourage each child to develop an early love for learning.
- Your child’s teachers will continue to scaffold and encourage them to develop and explore their pre-literacy skills, maths and science concepts and nurture their emotional and social development.
- The Butterfly room is laid out to inspire meaningful play experiences and offers your child valuable learning opportunities in order to nurture their independence, self esteem, social skills, resilience and create a long lasting love for nature and the outdoors in a secure, inclusive and fun environment.
- Here in Rathoe Community Childcare we understand that sessional preschool hours might not be suitable for all parents.
- Therefore to assist parents childcare needs we offer extended preschool hours known as ‘Wrap around care’ from 12pm-3pm daily in the butterfly room.
- These additional hours start after the free ECCE hours have finished at 12pm.
- Parents are entitled to reduced fees under the National Childcare Scheme (NCS).
- The wrap around care service is opened to all children in both the Rainbow room and the Butterfly room.
